Nashville School of the Arts is a specialty high school serving talented arts students from across the school district. The school has nine arts conservatories that students can audition for.
The conservatories include:
- dance
- music-choral
- music-band
- music-strings
- music-guitar
- music-piano
- theatre arts
- visual arts
- literary arts
NSA also has a focus on strong academics to create well-rounded students. NSA’s percentage of students participating in Advanced Placement courses is third in the MNPS district, behind the two academic magnet high schools.
“We are artists. We are scholars. We are individuals. Each of these characteristics are equal and invaluable to the success of every student and to the success of Nashville School of the Arts,” Executive Principal Dr. Gregory Stewart says. 
At NSA, Every Student is Known through a conservatory model in which each student majors in a specific artistic program of studies. Through this model, each fine arts director has a unique opportunity to personally and professionally know, support and cultivate students’ learning and development.
NSA further enhances this model through Personal Learning Time, designated Navigator sessions, and student enrichment activities. Additionally, each staff member and administrator spends time with students beyond the classroom communicating, tutoring, planning and nurturing the educational, social and emotional needs of all.
Every year NSA’s seniors are offered millions of dollars in scholarships to attend not only nationally recognized arts programs but also prestigious institutions where NSA graduates train to become musicians, actors, painters, dancers and writers — and also doctors, lawyers, engineers and scientists.
Audition and Enrolling Information
