Visual and Performing Arts

True to our Music City roots, the arts are an important focus in Metro Nashville Public Schools.

The MNPS Visual and Performing Arts Department is proud to offer, and oversee, thriving programs in dance, music, theatre and the visual arts.

These programs have support from the local music industry, and valuable business partnerships spanning the public and private sectors.

Our district believes the arts are vital to a well‐rounded education.

Our faculty works to ensure each of our students has access to high-quality artistic instruction in the classroom and vibrant experiences with the arts world outside of the classroom.

Our educational framework draws out the creative potential of all children, regardless of their cultural and economic circumstances and we aim to provide each of our students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in their academic, professional, and personal lives.
